After doing some thinking the other day I found myself stuck on an interesting thought. Is the legal system in America just a system of distractions and constraints for the people to deal with and be controlled by while the powers that be do what they will without regard to these very boundaries and constraints. The way it stands the laws can be used any way those in power want to use them. It can be bent and shaped to meet the desired end. Is power the only law left in America?
Being an ordinary hard working taxpayer, I realized the other day when seeing a police officer bothering a citizen that I don’t have the resources or money to be kept from being a victim of the American legal system. I don’t have enough money or clout for anyone in the public to care about my fate, and I don’t have the resources to buy a top lawyer or pay the courts off in the form of huge fines like athletes and celebrities do. I could be thrown in jail falsely at any time and have almost no power to change the outcome. Think about it.
If a police officer came to your house today and arrested you falsely, what power would you have?
I fear power and influence are becoming the only law of this land.
A rant about the dollar and the Federal Reserve Bank
It looks like India has either gotten smart enough or bold enough to come out and question the US Dollar. They have joined Russia and China in questioning the strength of the dollar.
But why?
Could it be that the dollar is backed by no real value? Keep reading →
Sarah Palin is done with the governor business. Yesterday she decided to step down as Governor of Alaska. Of course, the announcement caused the rumors and speculations to fly. There are more questions than answers really. Party line Democrats and Republicans both will go through hyptoheticals ad nauseum.
ANNANDALE, Va. – President Barack Obama wanted to put a human face on his plans to overhaul health care, and a Virginia supporter did just that Wednesday. Fighting back tears, Debby Smith, 53, told Obama of her kidney cancer and her inability to obtain health insurance or hold a job.
The president hugged her — she’s a volunteer for his political operation — and called her “exhibit A” in an unsustainable system that is too expensive and complex for millions of Americans.
“We are going to try to find ways to help you immediately,” he told Smith as hundreds looked on at a community college forum — and countless others watched on television. But the nation’s long-term needs require a greater emphasis on preventive care and “cost-effective care,” he said.
President Obama, Master of Cheap Tricks & Propaganda...Enemy of Liberty
The master of propaganda puts on a slick show. Just as my last article concerning the flaws in government health care pointed out, President Obama is using anecdotes to lean on the good nature of Americans. He will pull on the heart strings of good people to push bad medicine.
For every exhibit A, Debby Smith, there is at least one Mandy Davis who fears what government healthcare might do (or not do) for her. Plus, there will be far more people, in comparison to the Debby Smiths, who will have to sacrifice their money, freedom and medical choices for the sake of a relatively small minority of people who unfortunately do not have good medical coverage. Nobody wants to see stories like Debby Smith, but government health care is not the answer. The sad stories of the health care world do not give anyone the right to take money from person A to give to person B. What’s worse is that the very plan Obama feels so strongly you should be covered by, he and congress will be exempt from. If the plan is so damn good, why wouldn’t Obama be the first in line? We all know why.
The unsustainable system that is too expensive and complex for many Americans was made that way by the government. The standard play from the government is to create the problem, cause a reaction and then be there to “fix” it with more taxes and greater control over our lives. It’s like having a mechanic who you hire to change the brakes and rotors makes a small hole in a line that he know will cause a reaction. Later, you call him for the solution he created. That is the federal government.
Of course the grand master of deception made sure he had an audience for this scene that was staged and overflowing with emotion. That alone should make one suspicious.
There was one thing missing from this fiasco – facts. Facts are something President Obama seems to be averse to. For an hour President Obama put on another great performance, if it was Hollywood (maybe DC is more like Hollywood than you think). However, President Obama is not a paid actor. At least, he is not supposed to be.
It is my deep belief that individuals are what make the good things of this country and of this entire world. It is with this belief that I began writing. Often times, I contemplate whether or not I should continue writing.
However, I recently read something that made all the time and effort worth it.
I saw a web page for a young boy, John Matthew Davis, who was suffering from a rare disease. His mother, concerned for her son, began looking into “free health care” that the government has been promising. What she discovered was frightening to her.
She wanted to spread the word to anyone and everyone as a warning. Even more importantly, she has a son whose life she does not want in the hands of government bureaucrats. When I read this page I found that she used my article as a way to spread the word. I was honored that my writing was chosen and hope that it does, indeed, help.
The average American who has yet to hear the wake-up call will instead be woken up by a kick in the teeth from our government. America is going away and what it is being replaced with is a nightmare.
The House of Representatives passed the cap and trade legislation 219-212 this evening. If this bill ends up passing it will increased taxes and energy costs to the point that our economy will be driven into a depression. Jobs will be destroyed in droves in the productive private sector while “creating” relatively few unproductive government make-work jobs.
This bill is again over 1,000 pages and nobody has had time to read it all. Again, it stinks of favors, leverage and pull. 85% of the tax money that will be taken from you to make this happen will go directly to special interests. 85 cents on the dollar is going to go to business and organizations that will likely get perks from this bill. So if the money is all going to the special interest, who do you think this bill will benefit?
85% goes to special interest
15% goes to treasury
100% taken from tax payers.
So money is going to be taken from people in the form of taxes to implement a program that will tax them even more on using energy in a way that the government does not deem appropriate.
The democrats in power have shown themselves to be no different than the neo-cons when it comes to the warfare state. But with the democrats it turns out we will get the bonus plan – a bigger welfare state.
Can you think of the main difference between Texas and the rest? - Wall Street Journal
What’s interesting is the graph included in the article. It breaks welfare down by the 5 most populous states. The only one with less welfare from a year earlier is Texas? Can you guess what the major difference between Texas and California, Illinois, Florida and NY?
The modern progressive big government left is determined to implement government run health care. Their argument and tactics are consistent with most of their other arguments. They pull on heart strings with anecdotes and sentiment. They argue that government control of health care is necessary to help those unfortunate people which do not have health care. They bark this argument again and again as though anyone that does not go along with their solution of more government control is a monster.
Look at the case of the environment for a moment, everyone wants to take care of the earth, but not every person agrees on global warming theory nor the best way to take care of the environment. However, if you are not a loyal believer in global warming theory or the increase in government controls, regulations and taxes that are the proposed solution by the left, you are labeled a denier. Is this the kind of closed-mindedness we want when approaching the important issues?
I have talked with hundreds of people about health care. Not a single person felt good about the idea of some people not receiving proper health care. Everybody wants all American people to have access to medicine and health care. However, people differ on the solution. Is looking at more than one solution a bad thing? In fact, the opposite is likely the truth. Insistence on only one option for a solution to a problem is foolish. Even more foolish is insisting on that solution be one that decrease the liberty and wealth of the people.
For anyone who understands the history and nature of the Federal Reserve Bank, Barack Obama just removed all doubt that he is, at the very least, just another terrible politician.
If you do not know the history of the the Federal Reserve, please view this video excerpt.
As always, when a regular productive tax paying member of society utters the term “new world order” he or she is labeled quickly as somebody in the fringe or some spooky conspiracy theorist. But what about when it is a world leader?
“I want to say that before the crisis, there were many countries which had greater significance than others, and some countries which had no significance at all,” he said through a translator.
“After the crisis, everyone has become similar. We have the possibility to create a new world order and together we should improve our relations.”
It seems Raum Emanuel and the media aren’t the only ones to use a crisis as an opportunity to push political agendas. To top it off, the agendas usually fall in line with huge government central planners who are hell bent on conditioning people to the idea of international law and, more importantly, a global monetary system based on the central banking model.
Everywhere I go I hear the complaint that the government is too involved with people’s lives, regardless of political party affiliations. So, if this is a complaint now try to imagine what an international government would be like.
In the end, liberty is what people want. People want to live their lives as they choose. How can governments supply this? Every government action is one of compulsion or prohibition.
